Dear Dance Studio Families, As we navigate the chill of February, it's clear that the lack of sunshine is taking its toll on all of us. In Toronto, where we usually bask in an average of 3.4 hours of sunshine per day, as I write this message, this January has only given us a mere 3.4 hours in total so far. It's no surprise if our energy levels are a bit lower than usual. If you find yourself lacking the usual vigor, or if our young dancers express fatigue or reluctance to attend classes, rest assured – it's completely understandable. As we delve into our February focus on 'Compassion,' I'm extending a wave of understanding and support. Feeling tired and yearning for warmth and comfort is a natural response during these winter months. It's a time to snuggle in, seek solace, and patiently wait for the winter blues to pass. If your energy is waning and spirits are low, remember, it's okay. This is the perfect time to start planning and dreaming about the warmth and excitement that summer brings. Have you checked out our summer programs? Ensure you get on the list before they sell out! One week is already sold out. February offers numerous opportunities for us to embrace and exhibit compassion. Let's be mindful of each other's energy levels and extend kindness as we journey towards Spring together. Whether it's supporting a fellow dancer or finding small ways to brighten someone's day, let's make this month a celebration of warmth, understanding, and the shared love for dance. And speaking of spreading love, as Valentine's Day approaches, let's shower our dedicated Pegasus dance teachers with appreciation! We invite you and your wonderful dancers to participate in a special Valentine’s celebration to show our teachers and staff how much they are valued. Here’s how you can join in the fun:
Let’s spread the love and make this Valentine’s Day extra special for our incredible Pegasus teachers. We can’t wait to see the bags overflowing with love and appreciation! I know this will brighten their day, and I hope that planning something amazing for someone else will brighten yours.
Wishing you all a February filled with compassion and the promise of brighter days ahead. Jane

Dear Dance Studio Families,
Happy New Year! I trust you and your loved ones enjoyed a peaceful holiday season filled with delightful treats, cherished friends, family and perhaps a bit of indulgence in some binge-worthy books or television. As we step into the new year, our studio is buzzing with excitement and creativity. Throughout January, our focus revolves around two powerful themes: Creativity and Resourcefulness. These qualities are not only central to our faculty but are being woven into our lessons in innovative ways, fostering your child's confidence and personal growth. The arts serve as a dynamic platform for imparting life skills to our children, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability. Through the Arts, we aim to empower our students to think outside the box, offering unique solutions to challenges. By encouraging them to analyze situations from various perspectives, we nurture creativity and resourcefulness, laying the groundwork for innovative problem-solving. In a world of uncertainties, we believe that adaptability is a crucial skill. Our creative approach to classes during the pandemic reflects this commitment – navigating through uncertainties by embracing new methods and making the most of available resources. Confidence building is at the core of our mission. Engaging in creative tasks and independently solving problems not only enhances dance skills but also boosts your child's confidence. We strive to create an environment that not only nurtures exceptional dance abilities but also fosters creativity, resourcefulness, and adaptability – ultimately promoting a holistic learning experience for all. It warms my heart to hear our older students engaging in discussions about the monthly themes around the studio. Their enthusiasm affirms that our efforts are making a meaningful impact. In the wise words of my mentor, Misty Lown, "We don't teach kids to be great dancers; we teach dance to make great kids." Thank you for being an integral part of our extraordinary dance family. Your support and commitment are invaluable, and we look forward to a year filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable moments on the dance floor. Wishing you a year filled with rhythm, grace and endless possibilities! Jane |
