Dance Class Uniforms
3 Ways to Purchase Dancewear:
|
Why do we have a uniform...
- To instill respect and discipline in relation to the art form
- To ensure dancers are properly attired to move and that teachers can ascertain if students are working their muscles safely
- We often use the uniform as a base for recital costumes – Beige bodysuit may be required for recital costume
Hair & Other Details...
Hair: Hair must be worn in a ballet bun for ballet and ponytail for all other classes. If hair is too short, it must be pulled back neatly off the face and secured with clips and headbands.
Jewelry: NO jewelry can be worn in class with the exception of earring studs. This is for the safety of dancers as jewelry can get caught in arms, fingers, hair and clothing while dancing. Please leave valuables at home or take into the studio with you.
Underwear must not be seen. Wherever possible, and particularly during any performances, please ensure you have underwear that is hidden by your dance uniform. No bra straps should be seen under your bodysuit.
