Intensive Summer Dance Program

Intensive Summer Dance is a fast-moving, challenging program designed to push dancers’ skills in a supportive but rigorous environment.
This program will:
Plus additional classes in other dance styles.
Previous dance experience required.
Dates: August 28 to September 1, 2023
Ages: 11-18 years
Times: 9:00 - 4:00 pm
Fees: $650 + HST per week
A minimum of 6 students needed to run camp
This program will:
- Expose dancers to a variety of dance styles
- Give dancers the experience of working with professional dance educators
- Allow dancers to build technique, strength, and stamina through daily practice
- Give dancers 30 hours of accelerated dance training
- Encourage dancers to exceed their expectations

Alison Daley-Dance Creation

Dance Creation
In this class dancers will have the opportunity to create their own choreography with a focus on building original movement from within. Concepts such as individuality, identity and community will be explored through both solo and group work.
Alison Daley is a movement facilitator, arts educator and choreographer in Toronto. She is passionate about facilitating artistic experiences that help folks feel comfortable exploring who they are and building connections with others. She loves to foster warm, non-judgmental and lively group atmospheres where creativity can thrive. Alison holds a BFA in dance from Concordia, an MFA in choreography from York, and a B.Ed. from Queen’s with a specialist in Arts and Community Education. She loves to move, be moved and make discoveries through movement!

Alysia Charbonneau-Lyrical Jazz
Originally from North Bay, Ontario, Alysia has been competitively dancing since she can remember. In high school she expanded her repertoire and began taking acting and vocal classes at the competitive level as well. She moved to Toronto to study at George Brown College in the Commercial Dance program, where she graduated with honours in August of 2017. Upon graduation, she co-founded Nonstop Dance Collective, a contemporary dance company.
As a teacher, Alysia has been choreographing and teaching since the age of 15, beginning at Dance Expressions de danse. She has taught all styles including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, contemporary/lyrical, and musical theatre. She has also taught and choreographed for their competitive dance team. Alysia is excited to be back at Pegasus for the Intensive Summer Program! |
Ava Phenix-Ng-Body Conditioning

Ava was inspired to pursue dance teaching by her years of training at Pegasus. She graduated from the Teacher Training Program at Canada's National Ballet School in June.
Ava is excited to coach the dancers through a variety of conditioning practices to help them gear up for the new dance season. She plans to keep the summer zest going through leading high-energy exercises that will also work to increase body awareness, focus and skill-specific strengthening.

Caitlin Gillespie-Broadway Musical Theatre
Caitlin is a musical theatre lover and is thrilled to be teaching the Broadway Musical Theatre class. Caitlin has grown up doing musical theatre since she was about 5 years old and even recently took a musical theatre course in her last year of university at Toronto Metropolitan University. Musical Theatre and Broadway is all about community and telling a story and Caitlin can’t wait to help dancers perform beyond the classroom. Caitlin used to be shy but as she got older she began to love performing and broke out of her shell, which she hopes to do with everyone at this year's summer intensive!

Indiana Mehta-Jazz and Hip Hop
Indiana Mehta is a professional actor, dancer, choreographer, and teacher, known for her versatility and dedication to her craft. Born in Mumbai, India, she has a diverse background in Indian classical and folk dance as well as Western dance forms such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, and hip hop. Indiana is broadening her skill set to acting for on camera and voice over for commercials and animation. With a strong commitment to continuous growth and learning, Indiana regularly attends classes at the Studio North and Metro Movement in Toronto. Trains at The LB Acting school and with Christina Potenza and other known acting and VO coaches in the city of Toronto.
Her passion for dance led her to become the first Indian graduate from Laine Theatre Arts in the UK, where she obtained a National Diploma in Performing Arts (Level 6). Indiana furthered her training by earning a DDI in ISTD Ballet and Modern. Over the years, Indiana has amassed an impressive list of credits, working with renowned platforms such as Netflix, Sony, Amazon Prime, CBC, Nickelodeon, and more. Her work spans various mediums, including television, film, commercials, and live performances. Throughout her career, Indiana has maintained a focus on sharing her passion for dance with others. She has spent the past five years in Toronto, where she has been actively involved with numerous dance schools in and around the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). As a teacher, Indiana places great emphasis on technique, discipline, and self-awareness in the classroom. Indiana's dedication to fostering cultural collaborations in the arts sets her apart. She firmly believes that "dance has no boundaries" and actively works towards this vision through her company, 'BOLLLYHEELSTO.' This platform allows her to bridge cultural gaps and promote artistic exchange. Recently, Indiana expanded her reach by acquiring 'QUICK BALL CHANGE,' an agency specializing for dance teachers and educators. |
Kennedy Dale-Johnson-Character Dance
Originally from Saskatchewan, Kennedy is a RAD ballet teacher currently based in Toronto. As a graduate of the National Ballet School's Teacher Training program some of her specialties include ballet, folk dance, and community dance programming for children, adults and seniors. Kennedy is well versed in different character dance styles and repertoire from all over the world including France, Hungary, Italy and Spain. She’s looking forward to exploring a variety of dances with each group highlighting both the unique movements and fun partnering each character dance style explores.

Lauren Ritchie-Mental Skills
We will be introduced to Mental Skills Educator, Lauren Ritchie, through her virtual lessons.
Lauren Ritchie (MEd, BA, ESFCC) is an established mental skills educator, dance teacher, and choreographer. Her areas of interest and expertise include sport and performance mental training and the intersection of well-being and mindfulness. Her work has led to the creation of international teacher training programs, dance and sport conventions, the pioneering show The Dance Podcast, and mental performance-based curriculums for dancers, athletes, and coaches |
Lynn Ahmad-Ballet Technique
Lynn Ahmad is an international Examiner and Tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance, a Certified Teacher
for the American Ballet Theatre’s (ABT) National Training Curriculum (The ABT’s curriculum is based on both the Vaganova and Cecchetti Ballet Methods) and a certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor. Lynn’s qualifications, experience and passion allow her to bring the best elements of the world’s leading Ballet training methods to all her students. Lynn is an active teacher and choreographer for dance studios in and around the GTA since 1987; coaching and entering candidates for Royal Academy of Dance Exams and preparing students for major dance competitions locally and abroad. Her record includes numerous choreographic and overall awards. Many of her students have gained acceptance to the National Ballet School, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Quinte Ballet School while others have become professional entertainers, teachers and studio owners. Lynn is excited to return to Pegasus this summer and to share her knowledge and love of dance with them. |
Natasha Poon Woo-Modern Dance
Natasha Poon Woo began training and performing with Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT) in her hometown of Toronto and went on to graduate from SUNY Purchase's Conservatory of Dance. Now a freelance artist, Natasha is a frequent performer with Rock Bottom Movement and Côté Danse, and has worked with Citadel + Compagnie, BoucharDanse, The Dietrich Group, Roderick George, Benjamin Landsberg, Ryan Lee, Gadfly, Little Pear Garden, and Hit & Run Dance Productions, among others.
Natasha is also a passionate rehearsal director, having worked with companies and artists including CCDT, Hanna Kiel/Human Body Expression, Roderick George/kNoname Artist, and Rodney Diverlus. She is a sought-after dance educator specializing in Limón-based modern technique. |
