Junior Recital
The Junior Recital is an in-house performance from the junior classes at Pegasus. We transform Studio A into a performance space so that the younger dancers can get a feel for performing in front of large audiences and show their family and friends what they’ve been learning all year, without the pressure of performing in the Senior Recital. Costumes are provided for the Junior Recital that can be worn over the dancers’ class uniform, for no extra cost. The dancers are able to sit in the audience after their class has performed to watch the rest of the show. Each year, several of our senior classes also perform to give children and families a view of what Pegasus has to offer at a more advanced level.
Photo Day
On Photo Days we arrange for a professional photographer to come to Pegasus so every child has the opportunity to get an individual picture and a picture with their class taken in their recital costumes. The cost of the pictures is organized through the photographer as is all payments.
1. Photographs are taken during regular class time. Dancers come 20 – 30 minutes before their class begins with any accessories needed as posted on the ‘Accessory Chart’ on the Recital Information Boards. At this time they get into their costumes and get dressed.
2. Order forms can be printed from our website or picked up and filled out at the time pictures are taken. A completed order form with cash or cheque (made payable to Katherine Axcell Photography) must be given at that time in order to purchase photographs. A separate form and payment is required for each class that photos are being purchased for.
3. EVERYONE will be in the class photo even if you do not wish to purchase photos.
4. Go to your class at the regularly scheduled time.
5. Classes will be taken to the stage in Studio A for class photos as a group by the teacher. Any individual photos will be taken after the group picture.
6. Classes will continue in costume. This is also a rehearsal to make sure that any adjustments or problems can be solved before recital day.
7. Be prepared and be patient! No parents will be allowed into the photo area.

Backstage At Recital
Backstage at Pegasus Recitals can be quite busy. We organize a lot of dancers which means we need to be organized! There are a few backstage tips and policies for dancers and families of dancers to help keep backstage running smoothly so that the show can run smoothly.
· All dancers are asked to arrive approximately 45 minutes before the show begins. We do start on time, so please allow time for any traffic jams that may occur along the way.
· Junior Recital costumes are added to the dancer’s class uniform, so please make sure to have parts of the uniform, including shoes.
· Accessory charts are posted at Pegasus Studios and on the website in April. Please check to make sure of anything extra you may need to provide for the show. This could include additional dancewear you need to provide or a specific hair style.
· Parents are asked to take all of the dancer’s belongings. Dancers sit in the audience once they have performed and can leave directly from the auditorium with their families.
Accessory Charts
We post accessory charts for each class in April. These give all the information required about hair styles needed for each piece and any additional costume items that need to be provided by the dancer. Please see the "General Information" page under "Recitals" for the Accessory Charts listed by teacher.
